Why Oppose her?
ANC Commissioner 5E02 Karla Lewis is unfit to represent our community as an elected official in Bloomingdale, Washington, DC. She is anti-business, anti-progress, and anti-change. Instead of fulfilling her duties as ANC Commissioner to act as the official liaison between local residents and the DC Government, Karla has a documented history of abusing her position to push her agenda– more parking for cars– above the interests, needs and demands of her constituents.
Worse, Karla was recently arrested by DC’s Metropolitan Police Department on August 27th, 2026, for physically assaulting a Bloomingdale resident who disagreed with her at a Department of Transportation Strategic Bikeways Plan public workshop. The reason? Karla’s number one concern in life is to be able to park her car directly in front of her house.
On November 3, 2026, residents will choose a new ANC Commissioner by ranked choice voting for the Single Member District (SMD) 5E02. If you live in this SMD, DO NOT RANK KARLA. It’s your civic duty!
